RE: hydralic jack

What make and model of jack?
My leaks on my HWHs were from the hose connections. I have had to replace three hoses as the dealer that did the install (after-market) had a local shop make the hoses and not get factory hoses. The crimps were poor.

RE: Turn signal lights for my rear view mirrors

The arms of most Velvac mirrors are made of aluminum. Go to their website and you will see some come with a small rectangular light installed on the flat portion of the arm.
My rig has the lights drilled and tapped into the arm.

RE: I had my first tire blowout on classA

Before you buy new tires, get your rig weighed.
A higher load range tire has many bebefits. It can carry your load with less air pressure is the main reason.
It would be good to know what kind of rig you have, what chassis and what it weighs front and back.

RE: Fridge problem

Check the small tray in the upper back of the refer section. There could be something blocking it to hold water.
Check the tube in the back of the refer in the outside vent for a kink. Look ate the end to insure there is an insect guard.
Try blowing air from inside to the out. Hard to get head in refer but that all it takes to blow bugs out.

RE: limiter fuse that links engine and cabin battery

The fuse rating is to protect the wire or the item that is connected.
If this fuse is used to connect the coach to chassis battery there must be a device to link them such as a relay.
First thing to do is to see what size wire is used.
Next inspect the system completed to look for the cause of the blown fuse.
I would not increase size until everything is looked at and the system is fully capable of handling the additional amperage.
This size and type of fuse is used on large Inverters.
It may help to know what rig you have. Include make of chassis.

RE: Engine lifespan - 454 & 460?

John&Joey
If it is fuel injected and has a four speed transmission you should be looking at 150,000 miles.
Of course you must maintain it.

RE: No need annual brake check & wheel bearing mtce?

Owner's manuals don't always give the straight info. They are pretty much generic. Artic Fox may be able to tell you what axles were installed.

My Suzuki likes the 85 octane better then the 87. It must be something to do with the computers. It gets alittle better mileage not quite the difference you get but still better.

RE: No need annual brake check & wheel bearing mtce?

I would find out who's axles and brakes on rig. Then go to their website and get the straight answer.
I would have brakes checked. Dealers don't know what kind of driver you are, what kind of braking you do or where.
I can't beleive a dealer would turn down work! That would be easy money!

RE: Weak Headlights

Could be voltage drop. Check voltage at headlights.
Check how the lights get there ground. Take reading from headlight power wire to god ground. May need to add larger ground and connect near headlight socket. Could test by using temporary ground wire.

RE: Attwood restarts after reaching temperature?

"ECO" energy cutoff. It operates very similar to a thermostat but in the case of a water heater it is at a higher temperature. ECO operates at about 180 degrees, thermostat at about 140 degrees.

RE: Identify a sealant...

The frame is sealed with "Tacky" tape. Two different types are available. Black- Butyl and grey which is a silicone based.
The sealant was most likely Diocr non-self-leveling.

RE: Electric/converter puzzle

I would start pulling fuses one at a time. You could have a circuit that is pulling extra current for some reason.
You could disconnect the converter completely from all loads and see if light show continues. If it does the converter has problems.
If it doesn't continue proceed with disconnecting each load. I would start with the battery.
Another problem source if equipped is your refer if it has 12 volt DC element. Switch it to straight gas or 120 volt AC to see if problem goes away, or even shut it off for a while.

RE: 12 v. Computer power supply

I would be careful using the higher voltage.
Yes, the automotive system is 12 volts, however the alternator kicks out almost to 14 volts. This would increase output voltage accordingly.
I would suggest measuring output with engine off and then again with engine running to see what difference you actually have. Then make your decision.
